The Doiran Memorial is located near the British WW1 - DoiranMilitary Cemetery, in village Doirani, Northern Greece close to the Macedonian border. On a clear day, the Dojran Memorial can be clearly seen from Macedonian side from city of Dojran.
The Memorial is raised to mark the scene of the fierce fighting during the First World War 1916 - 1918, which caused many casualties to the British, but also to all other armies and the local civilian population.
On this part of the Macedonian front, many British soldiers have lost their lives attacking the Bulgarian fortifications but also the infectious diseases, in particular malaria, also took their tax.

The memorial was designed by Sir Robert Lorimer with sculpture by Walter Gilbert. It was unveiled by Sir George Macdonogh on 25 September 1926.
